Carl Haas commissioned the
first 1:5 scale model, which was built in 1994 of Nigel's 1993 Championship car.
The model always sat in the reception of the Newman/Haas race factory.
When you are a small operation like ours, it's a very proud moment when you
finally complete a new project, particularly one this size. A lot of
development goes into a model like this. That pride .... quite
evident in this picture of my Son Bill, after the "all night session" with my
two Sons, to
finish this model on time.
The
original, seen here, carried the red #5. At the request
of Mr. Haas, this was removed, and replaced with the "Red 1" livery, that
Nigel ran with in the 1994 race season. |
